Why do you you waste your life? Pourquoi tu gâches ta vie?

She tells me
Write a happy song
Not a depressing song
A song that everybody loves

She tells me
You will become a billionaire
You will be proud of it
Don't end up like your daddy

She tells me
Don't lock yourself in your room
Come on, do something and dance
Tell me what is your problem?

She tells me
Why aren't you a Man?
Are you high or are you gay?
You will end up like your brother
She tells me

She tells me, it's your life
Do what you want, never mind
One day you'll understand
One day you'll regret it
She tells me, you're so lame
Leave your bubble a little
You're doing whatever you want
You love it

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

She tells me
Be like the other boys
Go out and kick a ball
You'll be famous

She tells me
What the hell you are doing online?
There's something wrong in your head
Look at all the time you waste

She tells me
Why do you complain all the time?
You behave like an 8 year-old
You won't please me like that

She tells me
One day I won't be here anymore
But then she tells me this
She tells me something I love to hear
She tells me

She tells me, it's your life
Do what you want, never mind
One day you'll understand
One day you'll regret it
She tells me, you're so lame
Leave your bubble a little
You are doing whatever you want
You love it

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

She tells me
You still don't have white hair
But you will soon be 30
It'd be better if you woke up

She tells me
You're always a child
You'll never grow up
And me, I'm already old

She tells me
Look at your friends
What are they going to do with their lives
They might as well end it all

She tells me
Yes one day you will kill me
But then she tells me this
She tells me something I love to hear

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

She tells me, it's your life
Do what you want, never mind
One day you'll understand
One day you'll regret it
She tells me, you're so lame
Leave you bubble a little
You're doing whatever you want
You love it

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life? Why do you waste your life?
Dance dance dance
She tells me dance

If Desire is a Man

If Desire is a Man
That Man is You,
alluring
perfection
illusive
contemplation
all I crave for...

Desire
like coals
burn
my flesh
leaving
scars
where you were
every time I breathe

I want to kill Desire...

Sweetest love, I do not go by John Donne

Sweetest love, I do not go,
         For weariness of thee,
Nor in hope the world can show
         A fitter love for me;
                But since that I
Must die at last, 'tis best
To use myself in jest
Thus by feign'd deaths to die.

Yesternight the sun went hence,
         And yet is here today;
He hath no desire nor sense,
Nor half so short a way:
                Then fear not me,
But believe that I shall make
Speedier journeys, since I take
More wings and spurs than he.

O how feeble is man's power,
         That if good fortune fall,
Cannot add another hour,
         Nor a lost hour recall!
                But come bad chance,
And we join to'it our strength,
And we teach it art and length,
         Itself o'er us to'advance.

When thou sigh'st, thou sigh'st not wind,
         But sigh'st my soul away;
When thou weep'st, unkindly kind,
         My life's blood doth decay.
                It cannot be
That thou lov'st me, as thou say'st,
If in thine my life thou waste,
That art the best of me.

Let not thy divining heart
         Forethink me any ill;
Destiny may take thy part,
         And may thy fears fulfil;
                But think that we
Are but turn'd aside to sleep;
They who one another keep
         Alive, ne'er parted be.

Sweetest love, I do not go...This is one of my favourite love poems which I learnt at the age of 18. Back then, it was just another poem in a literature anthology. With time, I realize the true value of this poem.

We all die at one point, including Lovers who can't escape that reality. Temporary separations in life prepare them for that ultimate journey. Till then, Lovers should keep on loving every day even though they are so far away, physically. The Sun rises everyday even though no one waits for him in the sky. So why not lovers who have so much passion in them run into each others arms & unite forever after a small break?

Think, that we are turned aside to sleep today, yet we think about us always. When the Sun  rises, we will be together again with more love & passion as never seen before.

Thank you John Donne for your wisdom!
